Biography

Al Lewis was born on October 25, 1912. He was a writer and director, known for One Happy Family (1961), Our Miss Brooks (1952) and Our Miss Brooks (1956). He was married to Bernice. He died on February 3, 2002 in Huntington Beach, California, USA.

Some sources (among them Wikipedia) confuse this Al Lewis with the identically named character actor who co-starred in the classic TV sitcoms Car 54 Where Are You (in which he was a bumbling policeman) and The Munsters (in which he played the bumbling, spell-casting Grandpa). Although they were contemporaries, they were actually not even related to one another.

He had twin sons, Dan and Michael, with his wife Bernice.
