Robert Lewin was born on 9 May 1920 in New York City, New York, USA. He was a producer and writer, known for Star Trek: The Next Generation (1987), Judd for the Defense (1967) and Third of a Man (1962). He died on 28 August 2004 in Santa Monica, California, USA.

His first screenplay was the Oscar-nominated <a class="ipc-md-link ipc-md-link--entity" href="/title/tt0049022/?ref_=nmtrv_trv">The Bold and the Brave (1956)</a>, based on his own
military experiences in Italy during WWII.

Reporter for the Atlanta Constitution and Life magazine, and a partner
in a public relations firm, before beginning his screenwriting career.

Served in the U.S. Army in Europe in World War II.
