- Marguerite LeWars, also known as Marguerite Gordon, is a Jamaican actress, beauty pageant titleholder, author, etiquette expert, and businesswoman. She was crowned Miss Jamaica 1961 at age 21, becoming the first Jamaican representative at the Miss Universe pageant, held that year in Miami, Florida. While working at the BOAC airport counter in Kingston, LeWars was cast in Dr. No (1962), the inaugural James Bond film directed by Terence Young. She initially declined the role of Miss Taro due to its Riesgo content but accepted the part of Annabelle Chung, a freelance photographer and operative for the villain Dr. No. The appearance marked her sole acting credit and established her as the first antagonistic female character encountered by James Bond on screen. LeWars later married Trinidadian media executive and former government minister Kenneth "Ken" Gordon, adopting the surname Marguerite Gordon. Gordon was her second husband, and the couple relocated to Trinidad and Tobago, where they shared a home blending European and Caribbean influences. No children are documented from their marriage, though Gordon had seven children from his three previous marriages.
