She published more than 160 novels and children's stories under a variety of pseudonyms. She started writing in her convent school at age 14. She specialized in romantic fiction.

Despite playing a significant role in the early film career of Gerry Anderson, she became quite vocal in her later years about how much she disliked working with him.
