Frances Lee was born on May 5, 1906 in Eagle Grove, Iowa, USA. She was an actress, known for Her Splendid Folly (1933), Divorce Made Easy (1929) and The Carnation Kid (1929). She was married to Alexander Bennett. She died on October 10, 1999 in Cardiff-by-the Sea, California, USA.

Attractive, extrovert former dancer, discovered during a stage performance by producer Al Christie in 1925. Subsequently cast as leading lady in his short comedy films. Survived the transition to sound pictures.

Was considered for the female lead given to Fay Wray in King Kong (1933).

Was a charm and etiquette teacher to the daughters of Richard Nixon.
