Captain of Cuba's Olympic gymnastics team, 1948 & 1952, and returned as a member of the 1956 team. Earned a gold medal and silver medal respectively at the 1951 and 1955 Pan American Games in the pommel horse. Member of Florida State University's gymnastics team (1953-1956).
