- Viggo Larsen was born on August 14, 1880 in Copenhagen, Denmark. He was a director and actor, known for The Oath of Stephen Huller (1912), The Grey Lady (1909) and Das Kriegslied der Rheinarmee (1914). He died on January 6, 1957 in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Between 1908 and 1909 he appeared in five movies with the English detective. The actor Alwin Neuss took over the role later. The Holmes movie "Den Graa dame" 19(09) fascinated the audience in a special way. Based on "Der Hund von Baskerville" (the dog was replaced by a ghost in this filming) the movie transferred the audience to excitement with Holmes' excursions through creepy ways, and the height with the appearance of the ghost beaten everything.
- In Germany he shot again several Sherlock-Holmes movies like "Arsène Lupin gegen Sherlock Holmes" (10) and "Sherlock Holmes gegen Professor Moryarty" (11) - he played his last part as Sherlock Holmes in 1918.
