Christine Larson

  • Chose her grandmother's name, Christine Larson, as her stage name.
  • In 1955 she married John Frederick Cook, a graduate of UC Santa Barbara. In 1957, they became parents of a daughter, Christiana. The couple divorced later that year and Miss Larson retained custody of the child.
  • As a young woman, she was a champion equestrienne and a member of the Eau Claire Bit and Spur Club and won many blue ribbons in Wisconsin, Minnesota and California shows. She attended UCLA Art Center, Otis Institute of Fine Arts, and worked as a period costume designer, eventually joining 20th Century Fox studios, where she headed a men's period design department. Moving to New York, she studied at the American Academy of Dramatic Art and worked free lance for publishing houses, producing watercolor paintings for cards and children's books. Returning to California for acting work, she took the stage name of Christine Larson, the middle name of her mother and the maiden name of her grandmother.
  • A student of all religions, Miss Larson joined the Baha'i faith in the mid-1950's.
