Ruth Laredo was born on November 20, 1937 in Detroit, Michigan, USA. She was an actress, known for Small Time Crooks (2000) and Casals at 88 (1964). She was married to Jaime Laredo. She died on May 25, 2005 in New York City, New York, USA.

Concert pianist known for her interpretations of difficult French and Russian music, particularly the works of Sergei Rachmaninoff.

She was the first American-born female pianist to become a renowned international performing and recording artist. She helped bring the piano compositions of Scriabin into the mainstream, recording all of his sonatas. She made her orchestral debut at age 11, playing a movement of a Beethoven concerto with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra at the Michigan State Fairgrounds.
