Dominique Lapierre was born on 30 July 1931 in Châtelaillon, Charente-Inférieure [now Charente-Maritime], France. He was a writer and director, known for Mother Teresa: In the Name of God's Poor (1997), Freedom at Midnight (2024) and Freedom at Midnight. He was married to Aliette and Dominique Conchon-Lapierre. He died on 2 December 2022 in Sainte-Maxime, Var, France.
