  • After the death of his father, he took over his father's wax factory J. H. Lanser. In 1903, he sold the company and went to work as an actor at the Weimar Court Theater.
  • His last cinematical works came at the beginning of the 20s into being, among them Das Cabinett des Doktor Caligari" (20) directed by Robert Wiene and "Nosferatu - Eine Symphonie des Grauens" (22) von F. W. Murnau.
