Further training he received under Laszlo Kovacs, ASC and John Bailey, ASC on mainstream feature films in Hollywood where he worked with Jack Nicholson, Michael Keaton and others. Volker received a scholarship from the Academy Foundation (Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences), the award-giving body responsible for the Oscars.

Today Volker can look back on more than 15 years of experience in filmmaking. His cinematography was shown at international festivals.

Awarded films like "B-52" (Hartmut Bitomsky), "When The Wall Came Tumbling Down" (Gunther Scholz) and "Uprising '89, Dresden" (HFF team) were well received by critics and audiences.

In 2001 Volker became a member of the German Society of Cinematographers (BVK).

Today Volker is working as a freelance cinematographer and film teacher in Europe and Asia focusing on documentaries, art projects and feature films.

"RED ARMY" is a quite unusual soccer film featuring a team of men who are a bit different ... The tournament of a lifetime is to be filmed in Manila, the colorful, buzzing and exotic capital of the Philippines.

In contrast "Camus' Dust" is a dark road movie comedy about three men on their way to the infamous Death Valley to bury the ashes of a dog. The filming will start in Los Angeles but quickly moves to the wide arid planes of the western United States.
