Biography

Carl Lange was born on October 30, 1909 in Flensburg, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. He was an actor, known for Mistress of the World (1960), Der seidene Schuh (1965) and The Last Tomahawk (1965). He died on June 23, 1999 in Ostfildern, Baden-Württemberg, Germany.

Incisive character actor who began in the industry as a set painter and first appeared on stage in 1925. After an extensive theatrical career, he entered films late, at the age of 45. With his crew-cut, straight-backed military bearing and clipped speech, he was invariably cast as soldiers and gave particularly memorable performances as the head of the Gall dynasty in Das Erbe von Björndal (1960) and (as Col. Munro) in The Last Tomahawk (1965).
