Mary Langan(1929-2008)
- Actress
Mary Catherine Langan was crowned Miss Hollywood in 1950 before founding Deming-Langan Enterprises, a modeling institution where she and her colleague Millicent Deming taught aspiring models charm, posture, and wardrobe. She had previously done modeling with agencies like John Robert Powers and Lola Whitehead before realizing that she knew a lot about the industry and could represent herself. Howard Hughes reached out to her agency asking for models to appear in The French Line (1954) and Son of Sinbad (1955), to which Mary gladly recommended herself. They eventually closed the agency and Mary Langan managed a salon until her death at the age of 79.
