Biography

Harold Lang was born in 1923 in London, England, UK. He was an actor and writer, known for The Franchise Affair (1951), Dead on Course (1952) and World Theatre (1959). He died on November 16, 1970 in Cairo, Egypt.

At one time managed his own theatrical company.

RADA-trained British character actor of stage and screen. During the 1950s, in particular, played many sly or menacing roles in B-movies. Not to be confused with Broadway singer and dancer Harold Lang (1920-1985).

He was also a well-known teacher of acting in London drama schools, and was seen at work in this field in the TV documentary The Class (1961), directed by John Schlesinger.

After his early death, an unnamed friend was quoted in an obituary article as saying that "he died as he would have wished to die - face down in a Cairo brothel.".
