Biography

Janet Landgard was born on December 2, 1947 in Pasadena, California, USA. She was an actress, known for The Swimmer (1968), Moonchild (1972) and Land Raiders (1969). She was married to Gary Wayne Daigle. She died on November 6, 2023 in the USA.

Best known from The Swimmer starring Burt Lancaster. Her character represents youth and beauty in a story about a middle-aged man.

Currently living in Colorado

Landgard was interviewed for the behind-the-scenes documentary directed by Chris Innis, The Story of the Swimmer, which was featured on the 2014 Grindhouse Releasing/Box Office Spectaculars Blu-ray/DVD restoration of The Swimmer.

She attended Pasadena High School, but after she obtained a role on The Donna Reed Show she was educated at the studio.

When Landgard was 14, her grandmother suggested modeling to her. She was seen in commercials on television and on magazine covers.
