Michael Landau was born on June 1, 1958 in Los Angeles, California, USA. He is a composer, known for The Secret of My Success (1987), Smokin' Aces (2006) and The Bourne Legacy (2012).

Long time friend with fellow session guitarist Steve Lukather.

Ex-brother-in-law of Michelle Branch.

Has a brother Teddy (b. August 1964), a bassist who has toured with and was married to Michelle Branch.

Has played guitar for Michelle Branch live on tour and on The Sharon Osbourne Show (2003)

Is uncle to his brother Teddy's daughter with Michelle Branch, Owen Isabelle Landau (b. August 3rd 2005)
