Jon Landau was an American film producer from New York City who produced most of James Cameron's films since 1997's Titanic. He produced the 2009 hit film Avatar, Solaris, Alita: Battle Angel directed by Robert Rodriguez and co-produced Honey, I Shrunk the Kids and Dick Tracy. Titanic and Avatar are two of the highest-grossing films of all time. He won several awards for producing Titanic.

As of 2015, two films he has produced are the highest grossing of all time at the worldwide box office: Titanic (1997) and Avatar (2009), both of which were directed by James Cameron.
Through the 1990s, he was executive vice president of feature film production at 20th Century Fox.

He is best known for producing Titanic (1997), a film which won him an Academy Award and became the highest-grossing film of all time, the first ever to reach $1 billion in gross revenues. The film reached $1.84 billion, more than double the $914 million of then-record-holder Jurassic Park (1993). Titanic (1997) later went onto gross another $300 million in 2012, pushing the film's worldwide total to $2.18 billion, becoming the second film to ever hit $2 billion, as a result.
Following his death from cancer, he was buried at the Hillside Memorial Park Cemetery in Culver City, California. He passed away on July 5, 2024, only 18 days away from what would have been his 64th birthday on July 23, 2024.
