Jyothi Lakshmi was born in 1953 in India. She was an actress, known for Sethu (1999), Payal Ki Jhankar (1968) and Gandharvya Kanya (1979). She died on August 8, 2016 in Chennai, Tamilnadu, India.

Sister of actress and dancer Jayamalini.

Claims that although she is Tamil, many people, including Tamilians, mistakenly assume that is Telugu, because she has appeared in so many Telugu-language films.
