Biography

Denys de La Patellière was born on March 8, 1921 in Nantes, France. He was a writer and director, known for Taxi for Tobruk (1961), Soleil noir (1966) and Forbidden Priests (1973). He was married to Jeanne de Faultrier and Florence Renard. He died on July 21, 2013 in Dinard, Ille-et-Vilaine, France.

Father of Alexandre de La Patellière, Isabelle de La Patellière, Fabrice de La Patellière.

French film director of the 1950's and 60's, who specialised in escapist entertainments, often starring Jean Gabin. His style went somewhat out of fashion with the advent of the New Wave movement.
