Philipp Fabian Kölmel is a Munich-based film composer best known for his epic-melodic scores to the fantasy hit trilogy Ruby Red (2013) - Sapphire Blue (2014) - Emerald Green (2016), whose soundtracks were released on Sony Classical, and Netflix's teen-horror success The Privilege (2022). Blending contemporary orchestral writing with subtle electronic colors, his music has reached a global fan-base and topped soundtrack charts.

After early prizes at the "Jugend komponiert" competition, Kölmel studied piano, conducting and Tonmeister technique at Berlin University of the Arts, followed by film-scoring studies with Enjott Schneider in Munich. Since his debut feature Cascadeur (1998) he has composed for a wide array of films, television series and international events, while remaining active as a concert pianist and songwriter.

Kölmel is a founding board member of the German Film Music Society and belongs to the German Film Academy and the German Composers Association.
