- Erich Kästner was born on February 23, 1899 in Dresden, Germany. He was a writer and actor, known for The Parent Trap (1961), The Parent Trap (1998) and Das doppelte Lottchen (1950). He died on July 29, 1974 in Munich, Bavaria, West Germany.
