- Shark Filmmaker Jeff Kurr has produced and directed over 60 documentary films for Discovery's Shark Week, including the Emmy nominated and critically acclaimed AIR JAWS franchise (16 episodes) and the GREAT WHITE SERIAL KILLER franchise (8 episodes); one of the highest rated series in Shark Week history. Now entering his 34th season at Shark Week- Jeff has had numerous jaw dropping encounters with great white sharks, as a cinematographer, expedition leader and occasional on camera talent. He's discovered and developed many of Discovery's Shark Week "stars" and also been a spokesman for the summertime event- appearing on Good Morning America, The Today Show, The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, Fox News, CNN, EXTRA and many many more. Jeff is a California native, attended San Diego State, and has raised college bound twins. He states that "helping make sharks the most popular wild animals on the planet" has been his most rewarding achievement- as it inspires future generations of filmmakers, marine biologists and shark conservationists.
