A former reporter, Harry Kurnitz arrived in Hollywood in 1938 after
being hired to write the screenplay for his own story, "Fast Company."
He stayed to become a prolific screenwriter, working on everything from
Errol Flynn swashbucklers to Danny Kaye comedies. He also found time to become
a successful novelist and playwright ("A Shot in the Dark", "Once More
with Feeling").
