Shanta Kumari was born in 1920 in Prodduttur, Andhra Pradesh, India. She was an actress and producer, known for Balaji (1939), Sri Venkateswara Mahathyam (1960) and Dharmapatni (1941). She was married to P. Pullaiah. She died on 18 January 2006 in Chennai, India.

Was awarded the Raghupathi Venkaiah Award for her outstanding
contribution to Telugu cinema by the Government of Andhra Pradesh.
Earlier her husband Mr. P. Pullaiah had received this award. This is
the only couple to have received that award.
