Biography

Jiří Krampol was born on July 11, 1938 in Bustehrad by Kladno, Czechoslovakia [now Czech Republic]. He was an actor and writer, known for Pet muzu a jedno srdce (1971), The Three Musketeers (1983) and Wolf's Hole (1987). He was married to Hana Krampolová, Jana Fortová, Hana Suvajdicová and Marta Krampolová. He died on July 26, 2025 in Prague, Czech Republic.

He was considered for the part of Frantisek Koudelka in Jáchyme, hod ho do stroje! (1974), eventually played by Ludek Sobota.

He auditioned the part of Jura in Golden Fern (1963), eventually played by Vít Olmer.

He was best known as a Czech voice actor of Jean-Paul Belmondo (he earned the nickname "Czech Belmondo") and Louis de Funès, and was the recipient of the Frantisek FIlipovsky Award for lifetime contribution to Czech voice acting.

In 2018, he was awarded by the Czech Republic's Medal of Merit (First Class) for services to the state in the field of culture.

Jirí Krampol was a Czech actor, comedian and TV presenter.

[on Parta hic (1977)] I told myself, for Christ's sake, what am I going to do about it, such a crap about miners drinking milk. But back then it wasn't easy to turn down some roles, especially those that were closely watched by the regime. It was incredible fun during the filming, but it was a terrible film for us at the time. When we met Petr Nárožný or the director Hynek Bočan afterwards, we agreed that to this day we are still ashamed of it.
