  • George Kourounis is a Canadian explorer, adventurer and popular TV host who specializes in documenting extreme forces of nature & natural disasters worldwide. He chases tornadoes & hurricanes, descends into active volcanoes, and is an expert that is frequently called upon by production companies and news agencies to provide on-camera commentary about the natural world. He holds the title of "Explorer In Residence" for the Royal Canadian Geographical Society, is a fellow of The Explorers Club in New York & the Royal Geographical Society in London. He holds a Guinness World Record for becoming the first person to ever set foot at the bottom of the flaming "Doorway To Hell" gas crater at Darvaza, Turkmenistan. He's best known for having hosted the Angry Planet TV series.
