Jim Kouf was born on July 24, 1951 in Hollywood, California, USA. He is a producer and writer, known for Grimm (2011), Stakeout (1987) and National Treasure (2004). He is married to Lynn Kouf.

As of March 2016, had not issued any kind of statement regarding the Secret Admirer (1985) / Vasos De Papel (2016) plagiarism controversy.

The difference between an action film and an adventure film is that adventure is more exotic. There has to be some element beyond the usual car chase. There's a sense of history about an adventure film. Audiences should walk away saying, "Hey, I learned something here. I know more than I started with".

[about working with the late Tupac Shakur on Gang Related] Tupac was great to work with. He really wanted acting to be his way out of the music world, which was controlling his life at the time. He was also going to score the movie, but was killed 10 days after we finished shooting. He was a great guy. We had a lot of fun on set.
