- Kim van Kooten is an actor and writer with a long career in film and television. She made her acting debut in 1995 with the critically acclaimed film Zusje. A year later, in 1996, Kim made her screenwriting debut with the film Blind Date, which also won several awards and was later remade in the U.S. in 2007, directed by Stanley Tucci.
Kim has written the screenplays for several award-winning films such as Met Grote Blijdschap (2001) and the box office hit Alles is Liefde (2007). In 2015, Kim made her debut as a novelist with the book 'Lieveling' which on the long list for the Libris Literature Prize. More recently, Kim wrote the screenplays for Day & Night (the most successful Dutch drama series of 2023) and The Terrible 1980s (2022). For the screenplay of The Terrible 1980s, she received the prestigious Kees Holierhoek Screenplay Award. Kim was also executive producer and lead actor on both productions.
She has acted in numerous films and series, including the film Philleine says Sorry and hit series like Evelien and Hollands Hoop, as well as the TV movie De Zitting.
