In 2008, a theatre in Aigaleo (Athens) was named after him in honor of his great work in greek film and theatre.

His brother-in-law Savas Konstandopoulos was the editor of the newspaper "Eleftheros Kosmos".

When playing supporting roles in comedies, he was often typecast in portraying overly strict, overly domineering, or overly conservative fathers and father figures. When portraying the main character instead, he was often typecast in portraying middle-aged playboys, hedonistic womanizers, aspiring con-artists, and gamblers.

He survived a stroke in November 1978, but he found that it affected his speech patters and made some words hard for him to pronounce. He retired from stage productions in 1979, and from film roles in 1981.
