- Slavko Kolar was born on December 1, 1891 in Palesnik near Garesnica, Austria-Hungary [now Croatia]. He was a writer, known for Svoga tela gospodar (1957), Breza (1967) and Master of His Own Body (1957). He died on September 15, 1963 in Zagreb, Croatia, Yugoslavia.
