Biography

John Kneubuhl was born on July 2, 1920 in Pago Pago, American Samoa. He was a writer and producer, known for The Screaming Skull (1958), The Fugitive (1963) and Mannix (1967). He died on February 20, 1992 in Pago Pago, American Samoa.

Created the character of Dr. Loveless on The Wild, Wild West. Wrote three of the first four Dr. Loveless episodes on that series, and five of the 10 overall Dr. Loveless episodes.

The American Samoa English Department of Curriculum & Instruction has an honorary award named after him. The award is given to a student or a group of students who has succeeded three consecutive times at the annual "Speech and Drama Festival". The first recipient of the award was 18 year old Renee Togafau from Samoana High School who won the Impromptu Persuasive Speech category from 2002 to 2004.
