- Ivan Klíma was born on September 14, 1931 in Prague, Czechoslovakia [now Czech Republic]. He was a writer and actor, known for A Summer of Love (1979), Teatterituokio (1962) and Little Mole (1957). He was married to Helena Mala. He died on October 4, 2025 in Prague, Czech Republic.

- After World War II, Klíma completed his secondary school studies and in 1956 graduated from the Faculty of Arts of Charles University in Prague with a degree in Czech language and literary studies. He had already been a member of the Communist Party for three years.
- The recipient of many awards, including the Egon Hostovský Award, the Franz Kafka Award, the Medal of Merit, and the Magnesia Litera award.
- His Jewish background significantly influenced his adolescence. He spent three and a half years in the concentration camp in Terezín. His mother and brother also managed to escape death, and Klíma's father, an electrical engineer, also survived World War II.
