- Bill Klages was born on May 7, 1927 in Long Beach, New York, USA. Bill was a cinematographer, known for Ray (2004), Mitzi & 100 Guys (1975) and Great Performances: Dance in America (1976). Bill died on July 7, 2024 in Santa Monica, California, USA.
- Began with NBC in 1948 as a video maintenance engineer on such series as "Your Show of Shows" and "The Kate Smith Hour". He was then promoted to video engineer, working on "Your Hit Parade". His career was interrupted by a summons for a two-year stint in the U.S. Navy, after which he returned to NBC.
- Inducted into The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Hall of Fame in 2012.
- Inducted in 2015 into the Alumni Hall of Fame of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, America's oldest technological research university.
- Is a licensed Professional Engineer. Received a Bachelor of Science degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a Master of Science degree from Columbia University.
