Bodil Kjer was born on 2 September 1917 in Odense, Denmark. She was an actress, known for Babette's Feast (1987), Mød mig paa Cassiopeia (1951) and Jenny and the Soldier (1947). She was married to Frits Hinrichsen, Ebbe Rode and Olaf Nordgreen. She died on 1 February 2003 in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Turned down a role in Carl Theodor Dreyer&#39;s &quot;Gertrud&quot; (1964).

She was one of Denmark&#39;s most famous actresses and the national film award, the Bodil Award, was named after her.
