- Peter Kirsten was born on August 29, 1935 in Schwäbisch Hall, Germany. He was an actor and writer, known for Men Are That Way (1939), Wenn am Sonntagabend die Dorfmusik spielt (1933) and Becoming Colette (1991). He died on December 5, 2004 in Dietramszell, Bavaria, Germany.
- In 1979 Kirsten expanded his company and Arco Studios. Global Musikverlag is still one of the leading music publishers in Germany today.
- Over the last few years, he has overseen Munich-based Global Art Records Film & Video with his son Ben Bailer, who will continue to direct the company.
- He produced also radio broadcasts with the big bands of Erwin Lehn and Werner Baumgart.
- Kirsten became a jazz singer in 1955 and worked with the orchestras of Max Greger and Hugo Strasser.
- By the late 1990s, he had built it into one of Germany's most successful publishers, with 15,000 local and international copyrights -- including the Jacksons' hit "Blame It on the Boogie" -- and sub-publishing rights in Germany, Switzerland and Austria to a further 75,000 copyrights.
