Vanessa King is a producer, story editor, and screenwriter with nearly two decades of industry experience. Her work has been recognized by the AMPAS/Oscar® Nicholl Fellowship and Sony Worldwide Entertainment. She was named an Industry Thought Leader by Forbes in 2019 for her work on Final Draft’s built-in DEIA analysis tools. King teaches Writing for TV with Gotham Writers Workshop and co-founded the New York Screenwriters Co-Op.
Based in New Brunswick, Canada, she is the founder of Cart Before Horse Media. Under the banner she recently completed the scripted television series The Slack (Bell Fibe TV1), is developing a 30 minute comedy series titled The WASbands (AMI First Window LOI) and is writing a feature she will also direct, "Motherland."
She has two one-hour drama series in development for both Hideaway Pictures and Cazador/Paratactic (2026).
