  • Composer, recording artist, arranger, and Recording Academy GRAMMY® member Louis Robert King is known for crafting award-winning film scores creating magical backing arrangements for recording artists and composing soulful cinematic music as a member of the band, The Ironsides.

    King's score for "Sally Get The Potatoes" screened in Cannes at the 2025 Emerging Filmmaker Showcase and the Diversity In Cannes Short Film Showcase. His score for "Red Coats" won the Best Music Award at the 2024 Chicago Horror Film Festival and he garnered a 2025 Beaufort Film Festival Best Score nomination for "Game Night". He has composed orchestral, hybrid, and jazz scores for a wide variety of films and series across genres. To date, films featuring his music have made almost 500 festival appearances. The films "Cherry Bomb", "$13", "Live Long", "Double Happiness", "Cloud", "Golden Afternoon", "Never Too Late", "Welcome to Belle View" and "Margo for Real" scored by King are also currently running in festivals. He recently completed scoring the feature length thriller "Autobiography".

    King's involvement in the music world also includes creating arrangements for Janelle Monae's performance at Ralph Lauren's 2019 fashion event and Evan Rachel Wood's appearance at the LACMA Art + Film Gala. He also produced string arrangements for such artists as Kelly Finnigan, Monophonics, The Sentiments, Alanna Royale, and The Sextones. "Changing Light" - An album of cinematic psychedelic soul instrumentals, co-written with Bay area band "The Ironsides", is available on vinyl via Colemine Records and on streaming services everywhere. Named to many "Best of 2023" lists, cuts from this critically acclaimed album have more than 6 million streams on Spotify alone.
