Robert Kerbeck

Robert Kerbeck is the founder of the Malibu Writers Circle and a three-time Pushcart Prize nominee. His first person account of the Woolsey Fire was read by over a million people as an Op-Ed for the LA Times. His debut book, MALIBU BURNING: The Real Story Behind LA's Most Devastating Wildfire, won a Los Angeles Press Club Award, a SoCal Journalism Award, and the Best of LA Award. His award-winning true crime memoir, RUSE: Lying the American Dream from Hollywood to Wall Street is the story of how a wannabe actor became the world's greatest corporate spy. Frank Abagnale, author of Catch Me If You Can, said, "Kerbeck has mastered the art of social engineering, or what he calls 'rusing', and taken it to a whole new level." Robert's writing has appeared in numerous publications including the Wall Street Journal, Los Angeles Times, San Francisco Chronicle, Narratively, Los Angeles Magazine, Shondaland, and Lithub's Crime Reads. His short story, Reconnected, was adapted into an award-winning film and appeared at film festivals worldwide. A lifetime member of The Actors Studio, he is also an award-winning actor. Robert is the creator and host of the Soho House Lit Salon series @ Soho Malibu where recent guests have included Blackbird creator, Dennis Lehane, ESPN sports media figure Stephen A.
