- Was a cast member of the highly successful radio show "I'm Sorry, I'll Read That Again". Among her fellow cast members were Tim Brooke-Taylor, John Cleese, Graeme Garden, David Hatch and Bill Oddie.
- Her Emmerdale Farm (1972) character Peggy Skilbeck spoke the very first line in the first episode of the soap opera. Peggy was also the first woman to give birth: she had twins Sam and Sally (played by unknown children), born on 10 April 1973.
- Went to the United States with the Footlights stage show "Cambridge Circus" in 1964, and appeared on the "Ed Sullivan Show".
- Trained at the Central School of Speech and Drama and gained her Licentiate of the Royal Academy of Music (LRAM).
- Studied at Cambridge University.
