Songwriter, composer, pianist and author, educated at Mills College and a music student of Thilo Becker. He lived in India for many years. Joining ASCAP in 1941, his popular-song compositions include "Give Me a Ship and a Song", "Please, Lord, Call Me, Too", "Get Along, Little Pony", "Song of the Sage", and "Cradle Song".
