Trivia

  • Father of Columbia contract player of the forties, Robert Kellard.
  • Silent screen leading man of features and serials with Pathé in the 1910's. Discovered by David Belasco, he had formerly acted on the stage and at one time managed his own stock company. He made his Broadway debut in 1907 in "The Warren's of Virginia". Kellard left the scene with the advent of sound pictures.
  • Thomas Kelly changed his name to further his acting career. He felt that Ralph Kellard better reflected the sophisticated image he wanted to cultivate. (Perhaps the fact that there were a lot fewer Kellards than Kellys in the entertainment industry might have had something to do with it too.).
