- Robert Earl Keen was born on January 11, 1956 in Houston, Texas, USA. He is an actor and director, known for All the Boys Love Mandy Lane (2006), Stop-Loss (2008) and Beneath the Dark (2010).
- He and Lyle Lovett went to Texas A&M University during the same era and could be seen strumming guitars during the undergraduate years at local venues including the Northgate area. They co-wrote "The Front Porch Song" which chronicles their time in the Bryan/College Station area.
