Streaming Stars, Then and Now

A New York native who went to school for accounting and traded in his CPA to get into TV Production. Katz was hired by former NBC Sports executive, Don Ohlmeyer, and soon became the production manager for all of Ohlmeyer's events.

Katz moved to Los Angeles in 1987 and worked for one season on the CBS late-night series, Top of the Pops. After that, NBC recruited Katz and sent him to Korea to tech manage the 1988 Summer Olympic Games where he received an Emmy Award.

After returning to the states, Katz was hired by animation giant Hanna-Barbera where he worked with company president David Kirschner. In addition to being the studio's production manager, Katz wrote episodes for Captain Planet and Swat Kats. Kirschner then moved Katz over to the feature animation division to produce, Cats Don't Dance, which was distributed by Warner Bros.

After taking off four years to write screenplays, Katz wrote, produced and directed, Can I Play?, a short film starring Talia Shire that garnered multiple awards on the festival circuit.

Today Katz runs Radcliffe Road Pictures which produces infomercials, commercials, documentaries, award shows and "pretty much whatever interests me," he says. Now he can write a project and see it creatively all the way through post production.
