- Katalin Karády was born on December 8, 1910 in Budapest, Austria-Hungary [now Hungary]. She was an actress, known for Egy tál lencse (1941), Erzsébet királyné (1940) and The Taming of the Shrew (1943). She died on February 8, 1990 in New York City, New York, USA.
- During WWII, saved Jewish children from being killed and then sheltered those children in her apartment.
- Had a star turn in Szíriusz (1942), one of six films to play in competition a the 1942 Venice Film Festival.
- In addition to her acting, Katalin was a popular singer who recorded several jazz songs for Patria Ultravox and Durium-Patria. Magyar Rádió in 1944 because of her political leanings.
