Biography

Elma Karlowa was born on March 12, 1932 in Zagreb, Yugoslavia [now Croatia]. She was an actress, known for Fear Eats the Soul (1974), The Beggar Student (1956) and Holiday in St. Tropez (1964). She died on December 31, 1994 in Munich, Bavaria, Germany.

Elma Karlowa was in the second part of the sixties no longer in demand, fell into depression and tried to commit suicide with sleeping pills.

She worked several time as a cleaning lady, a tie seamstress and even in a bar.

Her final resting place is located in Sydney (Australia).

Her diabetes meant that she disappeared for a long time almost entirely from the screen.
