Biography

We are the first peoples of this land, and our voices have been denied, ignored and shut out of the conversations that are being heard about the future and our place in the world. All voices need to be acknowledged if we are to face the future together.

I grew up in a time and with those who encouraged me to work hard, not take shortcuts, discipline myself, and take responsibility for myself and others. I was an Indian kid raised in a blue-collar neighborhood on the edge of Edmonton. I often reflect on how wonderful it was to grow up when I did. It was a time when we spent most of our time outside, roaming the fields, bush, ravines, streams and river valleys in our territory. Winter, spring, summer and fall we were outside. I miss that freedom.

Everybody talks about the ideal of living a balanced life, which is kind of laughable. I don't know very many people who are in balance, except people who don't have challenging lives. To relax I do show jumping. I ride English. I love to ride.It's all about balance and breath. You're really in your body.
