  • The actor Erich Kaiser-Titz came up very early in first silent movies.
  • He was the son of an architect and began after his school years a professional training as locksmith .
  • Erich Kaiser- Titz dies on 22 November 1928 in Berlin , shortly after he has completed the shooting of his latest film Hungarian Rhapsody (1928 ) .
  • He made his film debut in 1911. In the following years he became one of the most busy actors of the German silent movie era at all.
  • He was one of the busiest actors of early silent film era .
  • From his numerous parts Erich Kaiser-Titz personified also the legendary detective Sherlock Holmes in "Dr. MacDonalds Sanatorium" (1916). Also from 1916 he impersonated the figure of Phantomas in severals movies, so in "Ramara" (1916).
  • First stage engagements took him to Lübeck , Kolberg , Hanover and Bremen .
