Biography

Wolf Kahler is a German born character actor who, thanks to his height (6'2") and blue eyes was often cast as a Nazi or unsympathetic German characters in his career. He has appeared in several successful franchises (Indiana Jones, The Dirty Dozen), both playing a Nazi officer named Dietrich, and was cast as Dr. Hoffmanstahl in Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows. He also had a scene in the series Band of Brothers as a German general.

He played the German Ambassador in the long-running "Ambassador's Reception" Ferrero Roche advert, uttering the famous line "Excellente!".

His grandfather was Fritz Sachsse, a naval Lieutenant Commander who was captured and kept as a prisoner of war in Skipton, North Yorkshire, England, at the end of the First World War.

In February 2006, he appeared as a famous Germanic architect character in US TV spots for Kohler (upperscale plumbing & fixtures supplier; ads have been running for at least a year).

He was considered for Dr. Bukovsky in Lifeforce (1985).
