He was also the president of the HDS (1992-1994).

He has written numerous popular songs and chansons, which have been recorded worldwide, and has taken part in and won prizes at numerous popular music festivals, at home and abroad (including Zagreb, Split, Opatija and Krapina; Rio de Janeiro, Tokyo, Los Angeles, Tel Aviv, Malta, Seoul, Palma de Mallorca, Cairo, Alexandria, Athens, Caracas, Mexico City, Curacao,etc.).

In 1947, he began studying music at Rudolf Matz's private music school.

Graduated in 1955 from the Vatroslav Lisinski Music School in Zagreb.

Between 1946-1950, he attended Blagoje Bersa Music School.

He was a Croatian composer, conductor, arranger, pianist, songwriter, librettist and producer.
